Hope was officially terrified. She walked backwards to her window and shut the blinds. She didn't want to chance seeing it again. Maybe it couldn't see in the dark? She'd only seen it in the daytime. What did the crossed-out 'o's mean? It didn't like the letter 'o'? She calmly walked downstairs and got on the computer. It was working, now. She opened a search and tried anything she could think of. 'slender man imaginary' 'tall slender man no face' 'slender man tentacles'. Reading feverishly, Hope found out that it lived in forests and mainly went after young children and those who knew too much about it.

HP OC 36In the hospital wing, Madam Hooch explained the situation to the nurse.
"I'm f-fine, it was just some mmmotion sickness." He pleaded.
"I'll just check your balance. Walk in as straight a line as you can."
"Ok-kay." Nick put his cane in his palm. He tried to use the stone floor to follow a crack, but the bricks were laid in an intricate pattern and he wasn't sure how he did. He remembered hearing somewhere that without a visible destination or something to follow, humans will walk in an enormous circle.
"Right, you have a seat on a bed and we'll check back soon."
"Was it bad?" He asked as Nick led him to a bed and sat

"Mum!" James called from his bedroom.

"I'm not having a shouted conversation, James." James sighed heavily and stomped to the kitchen where his mum was making dinner. He heard his younger siblings do the same. "Now, what did you want to talk about?"
"Mum, they won't stop copying me!"
"Mum, they won't stop copying me!"
"Did you ask nicely?"
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"And now you want me to tell them to stop?"
"Please, they're so annoying!"
"Please, they're so annoying!"

HP OC 35 "Now then, step up to the left side of your broom, stick your right hand out over the broom, and say 'up'." Jackson nervously took a step forward, held his right hand out, palm side down, and said 'up' hoarsely. He swallowed dryly and tried again, hearing the other students shouting at their brooms.
"Up." Nothing happened. "Up… Up… Up."
"With feeling!" Madam Hooch told them.
"Up… Up! ... Up… Up! … Up! … Up!" Jackson sighed, 'up' didn't even sound like a word anymore. "Up… Up… Up… U- woah!" Something hit his palm and he grabbed it instinctively.
"Nice job, Jackson!" Nick cheer

"vaguely pedophilic swingset"...That phrase is quite possibly my favorite line from a John Green book. Good job! You've really brought them to life.
